Yet, as stated above, it’s not always easy to lose weight just by dieting and working out. Sometimes, we need assistance in the form of cosmetic surgery – and that’s perfectly okay!
If you are considering a cosmetic procedure, either surgical or non-surgical, weight-related or not, it’s important to be as close as possible to your optimal weight.
First, it’s necessary to be as healthy as possible prior to and during your cosmetic procedure. Considering the other side of the equation, if you have been losing weight thanks to extra gym time or by consuming more vegetables than carbs, are you satisfied with the results? Unfortunately, it’s common to lose an excessive amount of weight, but be left with a sagging stomach, stretch marks, or drooping skin. If this is you, consider body contouring. Body contouring can remove excess fat, sagging skin, and improve the shape of your figure, leaving your feeling smoother and more sculpted.
Fall is almost here, meaning you may have trouble staying fit and healthy, as schedules become packed with practices, sporting events, and parent/teacher meetings. After all, getting into a “back to school” routine is hard enough, but “back to the gym?” Forget about it!
Finding time, energy, and motivation to workout can be a struggle, which is why the founders of CycleBar have combined three key ingredients to help keep you focused (and pedaling) all season long: great instructors, great music, and a great environment. You will have no problem staying motivated in the uniquely lit, state-of-the art CycleTheatre™ that is filled with great music and monitors that help you track your progress throughout your ride.
Remember, despite the time of year or how hectic life can become, there is always room for a good sweat!
Now that summer is ending, one of the best ways to power through and stay dedicated to fitness this September, is to try different workouts. That’s right, mix it up! Think of it this way: You’d get bored watching the same movie over and over, every single day, right? Your body gets bored, too. So . . . get creative; see what you like, don’t like, and what your body is really capable of accomplishing.
CycleBar offers a variety of classes, for people of all walks of life, no matter what your interests may be. From classes that include strength training and endurance challenges, to competitions and themed rides, there is something for everyone!
Interested in trying out a class? CycleBar is hosting an event on Thursday, September 14th at 7:00 PM. As part of this Sweatember event, you can sign up for the event, and get fit while helping the Cancer CAREpoint cause. Beverages, snacks, and prizes will all be provided. It’s the perfect opportunity to give to those who are in need, and discover if cycling is really for you!
While cycling is a great way to lose weight and stay in-shape, at Aesthetx, we understand that sometimes it takes more than just exercise and diet to get rid of stubborn pockets of fat. If you need some extra assistance in getting the body you’ve always wanted, consider CoolSculpting.
CoolSculpting is a new fat reduction procedure that uses advanced fat freezing technology to non-surgically eliminate fat that simply won’t budge . . . not matter how much you diet or workout. Better yet, CoolSculpting provides natural, smooth results.

Are you in your 30s and thinking about breast augmentation? Lucky for you, your 30s is an optimal time for breast enhancement; you’re more confident, you’ve probably settled into a career, and you know yourself more than ever. If you’re curious about what having breast augmentation in your 30s will entail, check out our guide on getting breast augmentation in your 30s.
The Benefits of Breast Augmentation
In addition to being one of the most customizable procedures in the plastic surgery industry, breast augmentation happens to be the top cosmetic procedure in the world—and for good reason. Breast augmentation is a great way to remake your figure and give yourself a curvier, more alluring silhouette. To be more specific, breast augmentation can:
Enhance breast volume
Enhance your cleavage
Shape the breasts
Create fuller, firmer breasts
Optimal Breast Augmentation
One of the main issues with getting breast augmentation in your 20s is that your breasts might still be growing and maturing; once you’re in your 30s, however, that risk is almost nonexistent. Unless you have some major life changes-like pregnancy-getting a breast augmentation in your 30s is a great way to ensure your breast augmentation results will stand the tests of time.
Breast Feeding and Pregnancy
If you’re thinking about having children in the future, then it’s important to consider potential issues like how your breasts might change because of pregnancy or how breast implants might interfere with breast feeding. Since our breasts naturally change shape and size during pregnancy, it’s possible that your breast augmentation results might be affected. And while it’s not impossible to breastfeed after having breast implants, the amount of milk you produce might be compromised. If having more kids is a possibility in the future, you should make sure to discuss it with your surgeon.
Who You Are
Planning your breast augmentation is more than finding out what will look best on you—in fact, your implants should also fit your lifestyle and personality. Thankfully, a lot of women hit their stride in their 30s; women are a lot more self-assured at that time in their lives, and many of them have settled into lifelong careers and hobbies. By your 30s, you already know whether you’re someone who loves being active or someone who doesn’t mind a dramatic physical change, making it the perfect time to choose the kind of implants that will work best with your life.
Now that you know a little bit more about what it means to get breast augmentation in your 30s, let our surgeons educate you on the rest. ContactAesthetx now, for a consultation.
Almost a third of all breast augmentation patients get them during their 20s. It makes sense; after all, your 20s is such crucial time in your life. It’s when you find yourself and experience major life events for the very first time. It’s also the perfect time to reinvent yourself and grow into the person you’ve always wanted to be. Are you in your 20s and considering breast augmentation? Take a look at this handy guide on what you need to know about the treatment.
What Can Breast Augmentation Do?
Breast augmentation can help you boost your self-confidence and help you feel more alluring and feminine. Breast augmentation is perfect if you’re looking to:
Increase the volume of your breasts.
Enhance your cleavage
Enhance firmness and fullness of the breasts
Shape the breasts
With breast augmentation, you’ll be able to choose a wide variety of options to fully customize your result:
The size of breast implants
The type of incision used
The texture of the breast implants
Where the implants are placed
The type of implants
Did you know that the FDA recommends that women under the age of 22 use saline implants instead of silicone? It’s not a legal mandate, however, and any woman over the age of 18 can use whatever type of implant they want.
Be Ready and Prepared
We all grow at different paces—and that applies to the breasts, too. While some of us might be done maturing at the end our teens, others might continue to grow well into our 20s. It’s not just development that can change our breasts, either; weight fluctuations and switching birth control can also cause fluctuations in size. Many surgeons advise waiting until the breasts are fully mature until getting breast augmentation, so if you’re considering it, make sure your body is completely ready.
The best candidate for a breast augmentation is someone who has realistic expectations and wants to enhance their breasts for themselves and no one else. You need to undergo the procedure for the right reasons, which is why it’s important to have an in-depth discussion about your procedure with your surgeon.
When it comes to planning the perfect breast augmentation, you’ll need the proper guidance and wisdom to help you make the right choices. To work with compassionate, experienced surgeons like Dr. Zeidler and Dr. Berkowitz, contactAesthetx now, for a consultation.

In addition to their multiple appearances in the news and media, Dr. Zeidler recently appeared on the Emmy award-winning show The Doctors as a specialist on Aeroform, and Dr. Berkowitz has been called upon to educate fellow plastic surgeons through national symposiums and conferences like the ASAPS and the Rhinoplasty Symposium, where he’s also the co-chairman.
Dr. Zeidler and Dr. Berkowitz recently attended the ASAPS meeting in sunny San Diego, and as always, both doctors enjoyed catching up with colleagues, checking out the newest technologies, and having some top-secret meetings about yet-to-be-revealed industry developments.
Dr. Zeidler Featured on Facebook Live for miraDry
Aesthetx is one of the only practices to offer miraDry in Silicon Valley, and it’s wildly popular with patients. Aesthetx patients love permanently getting rid of underarm sweat, eliminating odor without wearing deodorant, and most importantly, the boost in body confidence. While at ASAPS, Dr. Zeidler demonstrated how quick and easy the miraDry procedure is on Facebook Live.
Fat Transfer, Renuva, and More
Dr. Zeidler also met with several companies with new technologies in development, including new ways to do fat transfer to the face and hands, without the need for the operating room and general anesthesia, making it easier and more attainable for more patients (and most likely more affordable). There is also a new product called Renuva that Dr. Zeidler will be starting a clinical trial for some time in 2018. It is fat in a syringe that can be used for filling small dents – great for cellulite and dimples created by surgery. The future studies will be looking at this product as a permanent alternative to HA fillers in the face.
Dr. Zeidler met with the CEOs of both Sientra and Allergan breast implant companies to see where the companies are going and how they plan to refine their products over the next several years. Dr. Zeidler is looking forward to the collaborations both companies are planning with Aesthetx, including supporting Dr. Z’s annual Breast Reconstruction Awareness day (BRA Day).
Dr. Zeidler loved how down to earth Allergan CEO Brent Saunders was. He even followed us on Instagram and regularly “likes” our posts. Dr. Zeidler and Dr. Berkowitz are both excited about the incredible breadth of technologies Allergan is consolidating into programs that will give patients rewards – from BOTOX®, to fillers, to CoolSculpting, to breast implants. Sientra has some exciting new developments in their US manufacturing plant. Dr. Zeidler is their current Medical Director for their Clinical Trials and is currently working on writing their clinical outcomes paper on their 10 year breast implant study data. She looks forward to joining their Medical Advisory Board, and enjoys collaborating with their CEO Jef Nugent on the company’s plans for expansion.
Dr. Zeidler REALLY was excited about the first clinical trial meeting for the new breast implant company Motiva from Costa Rica. These implants have some exciting new features, including a special blue membrane to detect rupture, an implanted chip to provide more information about the implant size and history, and special shells and micro textures and super silicones, which may have some unique benefits to patients. The “ergonomic” breast implant is one that Dr. Zeidler has her eyes set on as it could potentially offer all the benefits of an anatomically-shaped implant, without the risks. The trial will provide more data on these special features.
The Motiva meeting was hosted at the San Diego Zoo, where Dr. Z dined amongst exotic animals from around the world.
The REAL Highlight of ASAPS
Although dinner at the zoo was amazing, Dr. Zeidler had to admit that her favorite part of her visit to San Diego was getting a ride in a bike taxi after walking around in stilettos all day!
Dr. Berkowitz Speaks on Innovations in Rhinoplasty
Dr. B’s time at ASAPS was just as busy! He was a featured speaker in a panel regarding innovations in rhinoplasty where he showed his 5-minute video of utilizing the ultra-high frequency piezo electric power tools. This generated quite a bit of discussion but with much greater acceptance of the validity compared to his prior presentations on the subject.
Dr. Berkowitz was also the co- chairman of the Rhinoplasty Symposium along with the president of the Rhinoplasty Society, Dr Geoffrey Keyes. The symposium was designed to educate plastic surgeons who are not members of the Rhinoplasty Society on what changes are being made. Surgeons from across the world were speakers in the program. The emphasis was on the more predictable and versatile approach to a more structured rhinoplasty result utilizing cartilage grafts from the nose, ear and rib donor sites.
Again power tools were featured by Dr Berkowitz as an innovation to improve outcomes.
After the Symposium Dr Berkowitz was a faculty member in a cadaver course on rhinoplasty where participants learned basic and advanced techniques in an open forum with their colleagues. Dr Berkowitz provided piezo machines from Comeg and Synthes for the participants to try out. This is the beginning of what will be a revolution if not just an evolution in our field.
Dr. Berkowitz and Dr. Zeidler had a great time in San Diego, but they’re happy to be back at Aesthetx doing what they do best – making you, you…only better.
Summer is here. It’s time for beaches, boats, and showing off your body. You were faithful to the gym in January – for about a month. You’ve kept the weight down, but those stubborn fat deposits still reside around your tummy. You’ve considered everything, including surgery – or have you?
You’ve thought about liposuction, but you’re not ready for the downtime. Plus, you don’t want surgery. Is there something short of surgery to eliminate those pesky fat pockets that exercise won’t remove?
CoolSculpting® uses cutting-edge fat freezing technology to remove fat resistant to diet and exercise, without using surgery. CoolSculpting® can sculpt and tone your body with little time, no effort, and no recovery. Using fat-freezing technology, CoolSculpting® can transform any body part, like your belly, back, thighs, hips, flanks, butt, or arms.
While CoolSculpting® reduces fat, patients who are close to their ideal body weight and are physically fit see the best results. These patients are searching for a procedure to get them over the finish line without spending several hours in the gym. They seek to refine the contours of their figure and enjoy wearing whatever they want.
With different applicators to choose from, Aesthetx can design a treatment plan for the most stunning results.
Target Areas That Bother You
A personalized treatment plan may consist of more than one CoolSculpting treatment. You may want to freeze away fat from your tummy—then get rid of those love handles that nobody loves.
Aesthetx offers only the most advanced, proven technology for our patients. That’s why we are one of a few practices in Silicon Valley which can perform DualSculpting. The DualSculpting system allows you to be treated from two sides simultaneously, increasing the efficiency, symmetry, and power of the Cryolipolysis™ system. By cutting your treatment time in half, DualSculpting is the potent, time-saving fat freezing procedure you’ve been waiting for.
Holistic Body Sculpting
Aesthetx will provide a clinical recommendation of which areas should be treated and how many treatments you will need. The result?
Because the body flushes the dead fat cells away naturally, your results will appear gradually in the following weeks after treatment. Multiple sessions may produce optimal results for those possessing more trouble spots.
To further refine the fat freezing results CoolSculpting®, many patients supplement their treatment with VASER Shape, a noninvasive treatment that uses massage and ultrasound energy for body contouring and cellulite-reduction.

Rhinoplasty is as popular as ever, which means the demand for newer technology and more advanced techniques is more important than it’s ever been. The process of working on the bone and cartilage in a patient’s nose is quite complicated and surgeons have to ensure that their patients are satisfied with the results. In order to execute the surgery in a way to reduce the chances of damage or unhappy patients, the practice of performing rhinoplasty has seen many advancements along the way.
The reshaping of noses is a practice that has been around for hundreds of years, going as far back as 1000 AD. In the 16th century, “nose jobs” were primarily performed to replace or reshape one’s nose in the aftermath of battle or in the case of facial deformities. Thankfully, surgery became a little more refined when in the 19th century, practices for pain relief and infection reduction were implemented through the use of anesthesia and antiseptics. The most significant change to the way rhinoplasty was performed was introduced by Dr. Jacques Joseph, the “Father of Modern Anesthetic Surgery,” when he created the process of performing rhinoplasty by breaking and reshaping the bone of the nose using a hammer and chisel.
This technique became the standard procedure for rhinoplasty and the practice remained relatively unchanged for decades. Which is why with the increased desire for rhinoplasty in recent years, a need was felt for tools that would increase the precision of the surgical process and offer a gentler approach. This need was filled with the introduction of electric power tools.
Electric power tools have been around for years but were mostly used for dental and oral procedures to deal with fillings, extractions and so forth. Now power tools have been adopted by the plastic surgery industry to more precisely and carefully shape noses during rhinoplasty. A new technology has been introduced that ensures minimum soft tissue damage and makes it easier to deal with boney structures and hard cartilage of the nose.
This groundbreaking procedure is called the Piezo technique; Piezo is a piece of equipment that easily cuts through bone but recognizes soft tissues, which causes it to stop cutting and vibrate in place, ensuring less bleeding and damage to the inside of the nose. Another benefit to this technique is a quicker recovery time as these tools can be much gentler during rhinoplasty.
Popular in Europe, it wasn’t until recently that Piezo equipment was utilized in the U.S. by Aesthetx’s own, Dr. Laurence Berkowitz. He first used the tool in 2010 for a chin enhancement surgery but was unable to implement it permanently as it was only available for purchase in the United States by dental surgeons. In 2015, a medical equipment company made the equipment for sale in the US, prompting Dr. Berkowitz to adopt the technique and focus on utilizing it for rhinoplasty surgeries.
Dr. Berkowitz was recently featured in an article in the Huffington Post detailing his innovative use of new technologies in rhinoplasty. To read more about the Piezo technique and the increased control and precision it offers rhinoplasty surgeons, visit: The “Nose Job” Takes a Giant Leap in New Technology.
As a testament to Aesthetx’s reputation for creating breathtaking results, New Beauty magazine recently reached out to Dr. Zeidler for their piece on “The Major Way Plastic Surgery Has Changed Over the Years.” The article focused on how procedures for the breast, body, and face have changed over the years to emphasize more natural-looking results. By consulting with Dr. Zeidler, it’s clear that Aesthetx has truly established itself as a practice that specializes in creating natural-looking results that stand the test of time.
Aesthetx’s Commitment to the Natural Look
What does it mean to create “natural” results? It means enhancing the body in ways that don’t look too artificial or “overdone.” Creating natural-looking results requires an incredible understanding of the human body, and the ability to understand how our bodies move and come together. It requires the ability to respect the structure of the human body, and to sculpt it in ways that look perfectly balanced and proportional. In short, creating natural results requires more than artistry—it’s requires unparalleled surgical skill. In all of their procedures, from breast lifts, rhinoplasty, to fat transfer procedures, Dr. Zeidler and Dr. Berkowitz strive to make their results noticeable—but in the best, most natural way possible.
Naturally Full Breasts
In the article, Dr. Zeidler spoke about the rise of new varieties of breast implants that give “natural-looking fullness that’s still sexy.” Dr. Zeidler and Dr. Berkowitz themselves are two of the most experienced surgeons on anatomic highly-cohesive silicone breast implants, shaped implants that create natural, soft fullness without making the breasts look too artificially round or hard. The two surgeons are also renowned for establishing techniques like the auto-implant breast lift, a way of lifting sagging breasts that also reshapes the tissue into a rounder and more attractive shape. By addressing the tissue itself rather than merely lifting sagging skin, Aesthetx offers a breast lift that can last longer and looks more natural.
Using Natural Materials and Advanced Techniques
The article emphasizes that the best modern plastic surgery methods look natural by “adding to areas where there is a deficiency and taking away from those where there is excess.” By using fat transfer for their facial, breast, and buttocks enhancement surgeries, Aesthetx offers a chance to sculpt areas with excess fat, while providing natural enhancement to areas that need volume. Aesthetx offers procedures with fat grafts because they’re unbelievably safe, and because it’s the patient’s actual tissue, it moves and feels as real as possible.
Whatever procedure you get at Aesthetx, you’ll notice a change in all the right ways. Your friends, family, and coworkers will notice a more confident, more refreshed you, and they won’t be able to put their finger on what changed. The professionalism, kindness and knowledge of staff are outstanding! Dr. Berkowitz is a brilliant physician who is sensitive to my needs and provides the surgery/treatments that he believes are most appropriate and acceptable to me. His follow up care is extremely thorough and diligent.
My husband refers to Dr. Zeidler as my rock-star plastic surgeon. Not only did she do an outstanding job, she was extremely nice and caring, and made the entire ordeal much easier because I had confidence in her.
I believe a true testament to how great a surgeon is, is to ask the nurses. Every single nurse that I came across at the hospital and surgery center I was treated at, raved about Dr. Kamakshi Zeidler and how compassionate she is, treats everyone with respect, and how wonderful her bedside manner is.
