Doctor and young girl in a wheelchair

In our ongoing commitment to community enrichment and positive impact, we are thrilled to highlight the compassionate efforts of Dr. Amelia K. Hausauer, a dedicated board member of Starting Arts. Dr. Hausauer’s dedication to combining patient care with artistic expression recently manifested in a heartwarming project that brought smiles to young faces.

Dr. Amelia K. Hausauer

She helped orchestrate a truly special event by working with local non-profit organization, Starting Arts, of which she became a Board Member of this past June. Musicians from this group put on an unforgettable performance of Disney classics for the children at the Children’s Healthcare Organization of Northern California, a Campbell-based inpatient facility for seriously ill or catastrophically injured children. The performance provided a moment of joy for the young patients, offering live entertainment, which is not usually accessible for these kids who may never live outside the walls of a medical facility and miss the otherwise commonplace experiences of growing up.

“The arts have a profound ability to transcend human pain and suffering,” Dr. Hausauer shared. “They are a way of expression and healing, especially in children who have fewer ways to communicate.”

Dr. Hausauer’s dedication to combining healthcare and the arts exemplifies the spirit of giving back, and we are excited to witness her ongoing commitment as a Board Member of Starting Arts.
