A Bay Area native, Dr. Liu graduated summa cum laude with honors from the University of California, Los Angeles, before earning her medical degree at Dartmouth. She then completed a decade of postgraduate training as both a surgeon and a scientist, beginning with general surgery residency at Yale. During her time in New Haven, she also pursued a two-year NIH-funded research fellowship in vascular biology at the Yale School of Medicine, during which she earned a Masters of Health Science degree. Dr. Liu refined her plastic surgery expertise at the University of Pittsburgh, one of the nation's most prestigious and comprehensive plastic surgery programs. There, she trained with internationally renowned leaders in the field, gaining advanced skills and learning cutting-edge techniques directly from the pioneers who developed them.
