BOTOX is a cosmetic treatment that temporarily reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines by relaxing targeted facial muscles.
What Is BOTOX?
BOTOX is an injectable treatment that uses botulinum toxin type A, a purified neurotoxin derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. By temporarily blocking nerve signals to specific muscles, BOTOX prevents them from contracting, which in turn reduces the appearance of dynamic wrinkles—those lines that form from repetitive facial movements. Beyond its cosmetic applications, BOTOX is also used to treat a variety of medical conditions, such as chronic migraines, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), muscle spasms, and certain bladder disorders.
