Where Technical Expertise Meets Aesthetic Precision

Dr. Cheesborough joins Aesthetx from Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, where she served as Chief of Plastic Surgery, Burn Surgery, and Breast Surgery for six years and held a clinical adjunct faculty appointment at Stanford University, a role she continues today. During her tenure, she performed hundreds of breast reconstructions and complex abdominal wall surgeries — often on patients whose anatomy had been altered by cancer, injury, or previous procedures. That experience is the foundation of how she practices now.

Her training reflects that same depth: a microsurgery fellowship at Stanford — the most technically demanding subspecialty in plastic surgery — preceded by a seven-year integrated residency at Northwestern University, one of the country's leading programs. She earned her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine, graduating cum laude, and her undergraduate degree from Duke.

What that means for her patients: a surgical plan informed by complexity. A consultation that walks through every option — what each procedure does, what it doesn't do, what recovery actually looks like. And outcomes designed to hold up over time, because the standard she trained to is one where the result has to last and function, not just photograph well.

A Surgeon, Mentor, and Educator

Beyond surgery, Dr. Cheesborough is an active teacher, researcher, and leader within her field. She has authored more than thirty peer-reviewed publications on topics ranging from fat grafting to severe rectus diastasis repairs with abdominoplasty to implant-based breast reconstruction and complex breast reconstruction. She holds leadership roles within the Women Plastic Surgeons and American Society of Plastic Surgeons organization. She volunteers her time as a mentor and educator for Resurge International, a global nonprofit providing reconstructive surgery to patients in low-resource countries. At Aesthetx, she will continue to mentor the next generation of plastic surgeons through Aesthetx's industry-leading training program, Aesthetx Academy.

Dr. Cheesborough lives in the Bay Area with her husband and two children. Besides being a dance and sports mom, she loves traveling with her family, fly fishing, reading fiction, cooking and anything outdoors. She is currently accepting new patients at Aesthetx Los Gatos.
