Dr. Douglas completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia and went on to obtain his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He performed his General Surgery residency at the Naval Medical Center San Diego before returning to Atlanta to complete the rigorous and highly prestigious Plastic Surgery Residency at Emory University. Dr. Douglas was a part of the San Diego community for many years, having served as a plastic surgeon at the Naval Medical Center San Diego from 2006 to 2017, with double-board certifications in plastic and general surgery. His deployments included Afghanistan as well as multiple Humanitarian Aid Missions to Southeast Asia. After retiring from the Navy in 2017, Dr. Douglas moved to the Bay Area and began private practice. Aesthetx Marin is the culmination of years of experience, the desire to provide an elevated aesthetic experience, and provide patient-centered care in the safest and most desirable location.
Dr. Douglas is on the Board of Directors for The Aesthetic Society, several committees for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), and the California Society of Plastic Surgeons (CSPS).

I have been seeing Melissa for years for filler and follow her wherever she goes. If you have ever considered filler go see her! If you’re unhappy with the work you’ve had done go see her! She is the most gentle and kind woman who has always surpassed my expectations. I came to say hi to her as they have just opened this interim office while the permanent office is built. I was given a tour and introduced to the team. It was absolutely wonderful I felt like a VIP guest in someone’s home. I ended up doing a weight loss consultation with Julia and even though I was hesitant because of my insecurities about how my body has changed over the years she made me feel so comfortable and was so supportive. At the same time she was so professional and her experience and knowledge was very evident. I am really looking forward to this office being one that I frequent. Ari at the desk is a warm smile when you walk in and once I see success with Julia I will be scheduling time with Dr. Douglas to discuss more options to look and feel my best. He is one of the most approachable Plastic Surgeons I have ever met and makes you instantly feel comfortable and valued.
I am writing this as an extremely satisfied, relieved, and beyond grateful patient of Dr Trent Douglas. I had breast augmentation surgery done by Dr Douglas, and he did absolutely everything to make my process as easy and comfortable as possible. This was no small feat since I apparently develop contractures very easily, and this happened to me a total of three times! Dr Douglas was always so patient with me and genuinely demonstrated honest care, feedback, and interest in not giving up on me and the results I was always hoping for. He worked closely with me to try different options to reduce the likelihood of my developing contracture again, and he brilliantly figured out the magic combination on the fourth try. Words cannot express just how extremely happy I am with my results, and I have to say it was definitely worth the journey knowing it was with Dr. Douglas. Dr. Douglas is a very kind, easy-going, and extremely competent surgeon who always has his patient’s best interests in mind and heart. He and his amazing staff (also very important in a situation like mine) took all the time I needed to explain everything to me. Despite the understandable and unavoidable ups and downs I had to go through because of my contractures, Dr. Douglas consistently made it a priority to provide me with all the information I needed to make an informed decision. I can’t imagine a better surgeon and experience than the one I have had with Dr Douglas!
