Benefits of Microneedling with PRP

The field of skin rejuvenation has undergone exciting new developments in recent years, allowing men and women to take advantage of treatments like microneedling and platelet rich plasma (PRP). When performed as a standalone procedure, microneedling provides exceptional results for skin rejuvenation. But did you know that PRP can enhance the results of microneedling? To learn more, read on to discover the benefits of having your next microneedling treatment performed with PRP.

How It Works

Before we explore the benefits, let’s take a look at how microneedling and PRP actually work. Microneedling uses a small device that is covered with short, tiny needles. When the device is rolled over the treatment area, it pokes holes into the skin’s surface, which stimulates collagen production as these micro-injuries heal. Gradually, this collagen will fill in fine lines, plump up skin, and produce a more youthful appearance.

PRP stimulates skin rejuvenation as well, but it does so in a much different way. PRP therapy uses your body’s own blood platelets to encourage the growth of new skin cells. Blood is made up of several components, including white and red blood cells, plasma, and platelets. After spinning the blood in a centrifuge, the platelets can be separated. Then, these platelets are re-injected into your skin in the treatment areas, which stimulates collagen and rejuvenates the skin.

Microneedling and PRP: The Perfect Match

When performed together, microneedling and PRP perfectly complement each other. Here’s why: New cell generation is dependent on growth factors for optimal results. Growth factors are special proteins that promote cell differentiation, and our blood platelets are full of them.

When microneedling creates tiny injuries on the skin’s surface, this makes it easy for platelets (full of growth factors) to enter the skin. If applied topically, growth factors would have no use, but when they’re able to penetrate deep into the skin, this is where rejuvenation begins.

As your skin heals from the microneedling treatment, you’ll have an abundance of growth factors working their magic in the meantime. This high concentration of growth factors will stimulate collagen, encourage the growth of skin cells, and produce a completely refreshed look.

While both of these treatments provide excellent results on their own, when combined, patients can take advantage of comprehensive skin rejuvenation. If you’ve been considering either microneedling or PRP, why not try both? Contact Aesthetx today at (408) 559-7177 to schedule a consultation, or to learn more about skin rejuvenation treatments.

Skin Pen Microneedling Live Demo Event

Microneedling is gaining fame as one of the most advanced ways people can rejuvenate their skin without surgery. People are flocking to learn more about how this revolutionary treatment can regenerate and reinvigorate the skin cells. Lucky for you, Aesthetx is hosting a live demo event showcasing the Skin Pen, one of the most advanced microneedling devices in the industry. The event will be held at the Aesthetx offices on Monday, May 1st from 1:00-4:00pm.

What’s the Big Deal with Microneedling?

The Skin Pen microneedling device uses very fine needles to create “microinjuries” in the skin that are so small that they don’t create any substantial damage in the skin. What it does, however, is trigger the skin’s natural healing processes, which then leads to a process of regrowth and renewal for our skin. With a relatively painless procedure, the Skin Pen can:

  • Soften signs of aging
  • Treat stretch marks
  • Reduce the appearance of scars
  • Reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation
  • and so much more.

What’s even better is that the Skin Pen works on all skin tones and is safe to use for almost everybody.

See how it Works!

At our live demonstration, participants will be able to see how microneedling is performed for themselves, and they’ll be able to see firsthand why it’s one of the most remarkable rejuvenation treatments in the industry. Patients also have the opportunity to learn helpful tips on how to prevent aging and how to protect your skin from aging prematurely. What are you waiting for? Space for the event is limited, so remember to register for the event in advance by calling Aesthetx at 408-559-7177.

The event will happen on Monday, May 1st from 1:00-4:00pm at the Aesthetx offices on 3803 South Bascom Avenue, suite 100, in Campbell, CA.
