Types of Laser Treatments
BroadBand Light (BBL)
Phototherapy – sun damage, acne scars, pigmented lesions
BroadBand Light uses efficient, pulses of energy to provide a versatile range of treatments. Because BBL cools your skin as you treat it, most patients only experience minimal discomfort. Thanks to a flexible hand-piece, any area on your body can be treated—even hard-to-reach ones. Your treatment regimen will depend on what you want to treat, but you should be able to see your results over three months. BBL can treat:
- Pigmented Lesions (e.g., freckles, age spots)
- Vascular Lesions (Spider Veins)
- Acne
- Skin Firmness
- Uneven Skin Texture
- Unwanted Hair
The Science of BBL
The BBL utilizes different wavelengths through its dual-lamp technology, which is perfect for pinpointing specific problem areas and leaving surrounding tissues largely untouched. One wavelength targets specific pigments in the skin that lead to age spots and wrinkles, then uses energy to break them up. BBL uses another wavelength to reduce spider veins by targeting hemoglobin, a protein in our blood. Once BBL locks on to hemoglobin, unsightly veins will start to clot and eventually collapse. BBL even works for laser hair removal by targeting pigment in hair follicles and stopping further growth. BBL can also reach deep into the skin to stimulate the production of collagen, a protein in our body responsible for our skin’s elasticity, to create firm, even-toned skin.
MicroLaserPeel
Laser Skin Resurfacing, Skin Tightening
Exfoliation have always been great way to reduce wrinkles, acne scars, brown spots, sun damage, and uneven pigmentation on the top layer of your skin; now, the MicroLaserPeel can provide a deeper peel than microdermabrasion, while being much gentler than typical laser skin resurfacing.
Most patients experience something similar to a sunburn during their recovery, but they’ll be provided with a special ointment to help with healing. After three days, you can resume daily activities and even wear makeup. Your results should also last a good 6-12 months.
The Science of MicoLaserPeel
MicroLaserPeel performs laser skin resurfacing by using a special wavelength that removes the outermost layers of the skin—and imperfections like blemishes and wrinkles along with it. Laser skin resurfacing works by using heat to target your skin precisely 20-50 microns deep (microdermabrasion is only 10-15 microns!) This encourages the damaged layers of skin to slough off and peel, leaving fresher, younger, and firmer skin behind.
SkinTyte
Skin Tightening
SkinTyte is perfect for a gentle, no downtime procedure for skin tightening. As we age, we lose collagen, an important protein that keeps our skin tight and firm. Skin tightening uses infrared energy to restore collagen in the skin, thus naturally creating lift and firmness. SkinTyte needs no downtime, is done quickly, and is safe to use on all skin types.
The Science of SkinTyte
What makes SkinTyte so gentle is its cooling system that works in conjunction with its delivery of infrared energy. It’s that infrared energy that activates collagen production and the strengthening of collagen structures deep underneath the skin, all while the skin is consistently cooled and kept safe by SkinTyte’s cooling process.
ProFractional Laser
Laser Skin Resurfacing
It’s safe, quick, and painless. The ProFractional Laser only takes less than an hour to treat wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, and uneven skin tones. This laser skin resurfacing procedure is painless, and even adaptable enough to combine with other laser treatments.
The Science of Profractional Therapy
Profractional Therapy is the most efficient forms of laser skin resurfacing; it’s called a “fractional laser,” meaning it only treats a fraction of the skin. It works by creating a laser beam that creates thousands of microscopic channels in your skin that are evenly spread out, which then encourages the rest of your skin to heal and increase collagen production. By only treating a fraction of the skin and leaving the rest untouched, this type of laser skin resurfacing will have a speedier recovery and a more efficient treatment.
ClearScan
Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal can ensure permanent hair reduction for people of all skin types. While most people have 3-5 treatments for maximum effects, you will have a customized treatment plan made just for you. Most people only feel a sensation similar to a snapping rubber band on their skin when they get laser hair removal, but if needed, you can get a topical numbing cream before treatment. At Aesthetx, laser hair removal for the underarms is very commonly combined with breast rejuvenation procedures.
The Science of ClearScan
ClearScan’s laser energy specifically targets pigment in our hair follicles to destroy them—which is why it’s more effective for people with dark hair and fair skin. Those with lighter hair might need more treatments, but laser hair removal is still possible. ClearScan targets hair follicles in their growth stage, and not all hair follicles will be in it at the same time, so your treatments will need to be spread 3-8 weeks apart. To protect the skin, ClearScan utilizes a cooling system to make sure the laser doesn’t damage surrounding tissue. It also uses a computer-guided scanning system for an even treatment of large areas.
