Why a multi-specialty approach delivers better, more natural results.

Most aesthetic practices specialize in one thing. You'll find clinics that focus exclusively on plastic surgery and others that focus on dermatology. Each can deliver excellent results within its lane; however, body changes, aging, and prevention don't happen in a single silo. They happen across multiple layers of tissue, all at once, and ongoing. So when both specialties work together under the same roof, patients get access to something most practices simply can't offer: a complete, coordinated approach that addresses the full picture from day one.

At Aesthetx, that's exactly how we built our practice. Our board-certified plastic surgeons and dermatologists collaborate on every treatment plan, not as a referral network, but as a unified team.

Everything Under One Roof

When it's time to address a skin concern or explore aesthetic enhancement, patients aren't always sure whether they need a plastic surgeon or a dermatologist. There's genuine overlap between the two specialties, and figuring out who to see first can feel like a guessing game.

At Aesthetx, that guessing game disappears. Patients can have all of their questions addressed in one place without being referred elsewhere. Their history, goals, and previous treatments are already known across our team. Communication is core to ensuring your best care. Whether you're exploring a rhinoplasty, breast reconstruction, laser resurfacing, or Botox, our specialists are collaborating behind the scenes to make sure you're getting the most complete recommendation possible.

For our Bay Area patients (busy professionals, executives, and families with limited time for extended recovery), this model also means efficiency. Combined procedures reduce overall downtime. Coordinated care means fewer appointments. And everything happening under one roof means you're never left navigating between offices or trying to reconcile conflicting advice on your own. In an often fractured medical system, this means less room for miscommunication or dropped connections. You are the center of it all.

When Is Plastic Surgery the Right Choice?

Surgery tends to be the right path when the concern is deeply structural: skin has lost enough elasticity that it's visibly sagging, tissue needs to be repositioned or removed, or you're looking for a result that lasts years rather than months.

Common examples include a facelift to address jowling and deep laxity in the lower face, blepharoplasty for hooded or drooping eyelids, breast augmentation, lift, or reconstruction, and body contouring procedures like abdominoplasty or liposuction when diet and exercise have reached their limit. Nonsurgical options can provide small adjustments but generally cannot approach redrape or reposition large amounts of tissue.

When Are Non-Surgical Treatments Enough?

Non-surgical treatments shine when the concern is primarily about skin quality, texture, tone, or early-stage volume loss. There is also a growing role for regenerative therapies that help your own body heal and restore its own tissue. An excellent example is platelet rich plasma PRP for hair growth. A board-certified dermatologist can accomplish a remarkable amount without any incisions.

This toolbox includes laser resurfacing to reduce fine lines, sun damage, and uneven texture; neuromodulators like Botox to soften dynamic wrinkles caused by muscle contraction, reposition brows, and contour the jawline; dermal fillers to restore volume or build strategic bone structure in the cheeks, under-eyes, chin, or lips and mouth region; microneedling and PRP therapy for skin rejuvenation and hair regrowth, and medical-grade skincare protocols tailored to your specific skin type.

For patients noticing early signs of aging but who don't yet have significant laxity or structural changes, non-surgical treatments can deliver impressive, natural-looking results, often with little to no downtime. And because those patients are already part of our practice, there's a seamless path to surgical options down the road if and when the time comes.

When Do You Need Both?

This is where the integrated model pays off most. Sometimes, a patient who came in thinking they needed a facelift discovers that a well-executed filler and laser plan gets them exactly where they want to be. Other times, someone exploring Botox or dermal fillers learns that a surgical procedure like blepharoplasty would deliver a more lasting and impactful result. Even better, perhaps it's a combination of surgical and nonsurgical options performed by true experts in each discipline.

The point is that you get an honest, complete picture, not a recommendation limited by what one specialty can offer. Our consultations aren't designed to steer you toward the most aggressive option or the most conservative one. They're designed to identify the approach (surgical, non-surgical, or a strategic combination) that will deliver the best, most natural-looking result for your specific anatomy, skin quality, and lifestyle.

How Do You Know Which Path Is Right for You?

You don't have to figure it out alone, and you shouldn't have to.

At most practices, you'd need to book separate appointments with separate specialists, explain your goals twice, and then try to reconcile potentially different recommendations on your own. At Aesthetx, our plastic surgeons and dermatologists work side by side and partner directly, often consulting on the same patient. Your story, your goals, and your treatment history are already known across the team.

During a consultation with us, the goal isn't to push you in any one direction. It's to give you the full landscape of what's possible, and then help you choose the path that makes the most sense for where you are right now, with flexibility to evolve as your needs change. We want to provide the most comprehensive care for you now and in the future – grow together.

How Does Aesthetx Approach This?

We built Aesthetx from the ground up around this integrated philosophy. Founded by Dr. Kamakshi Zeidler, a board-certified plastic surgeon, and joined by Dr. Amelia Hausauer, a board-certified dermatologist, our practice was designed so that both specialties inform every treatment plan. Today, Aesthetx has grown to four locations across Silicon Valley and the Bay Area (Los Gatos, Menlo Park, Marin, and Walnut Creek), with a team of board-certified plastic surgeons, dermatologists, and specialized aesthetic providers working together to deliver that same collaborative standard of care at every site.

Our guiding principle, "You, Only Better," reflects an approach that prioritizes natural, long-lasting results over dramatic transformation. Every consultation is educational by design: we take the time to walk you through all of your options, explain how each procedure works, and help you understand what to realistically expect.

Whether you're exploring your first cosmetic treatment or considering a more comprehensive plan, we can help you find the right path and adjust it as your needs evolve over time.
